English Teacher Profiles

Thea Online English Teacher English Lessons

I am a Canadian native English speaker who values the importance of communication amongst people all over the world and believes that LEARNING LANGUAGES CAN BE VERY FUN!

In my late teen years I began learning the German language at the most basic level and continued on to complete my Undergraduate degree in a bilingual study program in Germany.

Having lived, worked and studied abroad (mainly in Spain and Germany), I understand first-hand the many challenges one faces when learning and communicating in a foreign language. In turn, I am able to help English language students overcome these challenges and gain confidence in their communication.

As English has become such an important skill for connecting with the world at large – be it for business, education or pleasure – I am eager to do all I can to support you in reaching your individual goals.

I look forward to discussing your personal aims and coming up with a strategy that will ensure that your English language skills can help you achieve them!

Hobbies / Interests:

I have many hobbies and love to explore. I revel in getting to know new people and places through traveling and experiencing what various cultures have to offer. I especially enjoy trying new foods and learning to communicate in foreign languages. My favorite type of evening includes preparing and sharing a meal with a group of people from all over the world, trading stories, listening to music and dancing together.

When I am alone, I love to read: whether modern fiction or classic literature, magazines on current affairs, politics and culture, or various online blogs.

To pass the cold winters, I also like to curl up by the fireplace and knit, sew, make crafts and play guitar. During the summer months, I can be found taking advantage of Ontario’s many lakes and beautiful hiking areas. I love to walk through nature with my dog and eat picnics along the way.

Throughout the year I also work as a freelance translator in order to maintain my hard-earned German language skills and pursue my passion for playing with language.

 Deb Online English Lessons

My husband and I have three sons and a love of learning and the English language have always been an important part of our home life.  I did some home schooling in English grammar and spelling when my children were young and they continue to pursue life- long learning opportunities as adults. One of our sons is an English teacher in Hong Kong and we love to discuss various teaching methods and experiences on Skype.

An important motivation for my teaching is my desire to help my students become so comfortable with English that they can reliably communicate their own thoughts and ideas in their new language.

I have taught students from the literacy level who have almost no knowledge or understanding of English right up to the University level students who need to improve their reading and writing skills for their class work and essays.

I was happy when one mother in my class told me that after spending just two weeks in my class she was able, for the first time, to watch an English language movie with her children and understand almost everything.

I’m sure that together, we can work to complete your goals.

 Karen Skype English Teacher

Learning another language is such a rewarding experience and will benefit you in every area of your life.  English can be challenging because of the many rules, exceptions to the rules, and the wide range of dialects spoken around the world.

I have developed task specific workshops for the business community and customer service industry.  My corporate clients have come from Central and South America, Europe and Asia.  Each lesson focuses on the needs of the student.

I have worked with people who have hearing impairments as well as severe accents. I specialize in verbal and auditory teaching of the mechanics of producing sound.  If you want to learn how to use your breath and muscles to speak clearly and with expression, I would be very happy to spend some time with you.  I also have many teaching strategies that I would like to share with you to help you improve in all areas of English grammar, writing and listening.

Thank you,

Karen

 Learning English Lindsay

I love to spend time with family and friends. A great evening for me is spent with good food, great conversation and a great bottle of wine.

I am very adventurous and love to try new things. After graduating from university and getting married my husband and I decided to move to South Korea and teach English. It was a great opportunity for us. Since then we have travelled to more than 18 countries. I love meeting new people and sharing my experiences as well as learning from others.

I love taking pictures and scrapbooking. A scrapbook is a great creative way to tell a story and after travelling to so many exciting places my husband and I have some great stories! I am looking forward to sharing my experiences with you!

Sincerely,

Lindsay

 Learning Englsih Glenna

My teaching experience covers a wide array of subjects, levels and venues. I have taught both children and adults. I have had the pleasure of teaching English overseas, and have traveled extensively. This has given me an understanding of the challenges of traveling and living in a country where the language spoken is not your own. It has also provided me with first hand knowledge of the language skills needed to live, work, or travel abroad.

I have a passion for lifelong learning and strive to impart that on all of my students. I believe learning a new language should be a fun and enriching process. Throughout my teaching experience I have come to realize that every student is different, and therefore I tailor every lesson to meet the needs of each individual student.

I look forward to helping you meet your English language goals!

Regards,

Glenna
